FinnArrow Oy
FinnArrow Oy is doing for drone technology what Henry Ford did for the car industry.
Nowadays, drones are mainly propeller-driven, like the fighters of the Second World War. They are low-flying, slow, very limited in carrying capacity and expensive.
There are very few drones using a jet engine, unless cruise missiles are not included.
A cruise missile is usually powered by a jet engine and is capable of carrying a payload of hundreds of kilograms at almost the speed of sound.
The downside of cruise missiles is the price.
The Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) is a long-range, all-weather, jet-powered, subsonic cruise missile that is primarily used by the United States Navy and Royal Navy in ship and submarine-based land-attack operations. Export cost: $4 million (FY2023)
FinnArrow Oy brings to the market a completely new type of jet engine and the drone that uses it.
By changing the structure and manufacturing technology of the jet engine, it is possible to solve the heat-related problems of current jet engines. The jet engine will be very inexpensive and quick and simple to manufacture.
When the body of the drone is manufactured with new technology, it is possible to create a cheap mass-produced drone that costs about 1% of the price of a cruise missile.
Since FinnArrow Oy's drones fly high and fast, defense them is very expensive. For example, the price of a Patriot missile is US$6–10 million (FY 2018) for a single missile.
However, since drones are capable of carrying a very effective payload, not defending yourself is not possible. Because drones can be produced by the thousands per month, drones can revolutionize warfare.
